Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be permanent in the Mental Health Program Specialist 1 title, OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 18 level. Duties Description Under the general supervisor of the Pharmacy Services Director in the Bureau of Health Services, Pharmacy Unit, the incumbent of this position will perform professional level duties and provide program and technical assistance to staff in the Bureau and in the OMH facilities. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Pharmacy computer system: maintain and update formulary, assist in improving facility specific inventory records, provide QA services for costing and Medicare Part D billing information, prepare and submit required NYS Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement reports.
• Provide Quality Assurance testing of pharmacy system upgrades, enhancements and interfaces with other related applications. Assist in preparation and implementation of the Pharmacy module of the upcoming Electronic Medical Record System.
• Assist in training pharmacy staff for software updates and develop user training materials for current and future pharmacy software programs. Serve as ITS help desk support for OMH pharmacy system and formulary issues monitored through Service Center.
• Maintain drug inventory entries in both the new electronic medical record pharmacy module and the legacy Meds Manager system in real time for facility users.
• Prepare drug use, management, and budget reports regularly and on an ad-hoc basis using reporting tools to include Cardinal Entelligence reports, excel reports, crystal reporting and Meds Manager. Assist the Pharmacy Director as requested.
• Perform liaison activities with pharmacy staff located in OMH facilities statewide.
• Develop, update and maintain pharmacy database programs.
• Prepare and edit draft correspondence and other documents needed to maintain daily program operations.
