Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s or higher level degree, in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems OR a Bachelor’s or higher level related degree with fifteen credit hours in computer science and software engineering OR at least four years of experience in: Identity and Access Management design and architecture, LDAP security, Security Assertion Mark-up Language (SAML), and Federation.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking applications for the position of Project Coordinator. ITS is the service unit responsible for fulfilling the information processing needs of offices throughout NYSED. The incumbent of this position will provide technical assistance and oversight of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives associated with the EngageNY project, as well as other IT systems serving the P-12 school community. Duties of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Direct IAM activities required to address role based security requirements;
• Provide expert guidance to ITS developers on the IAM linkages needed to connect NYSED’s existing Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory with EngageNY and other P-12 systems;
• Support NYSED’s existing Oracle Application Server environment, including Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Portal and Java/web server software infrastructure;
• Collaborate with the technicians from Regional Information Centers regarding State-wide education IAM initiatives required for the P-12 school community;
• Implement software infrastructure technologies in accordance with NYSED and NYS information security standards and policies;
• Facilitate EngageNY IAM design discussions resulting in an implementation plan for a Department-wide IAM solution;
• Maintain NYSED’s existing LDAP environment and assist with technical activities required to support NYSED’s EngageNY and P-12 related IAM initiatives;
• Implement best practices to ensure information security posture of NYSED’s IAM and application server environments;
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the ITS team, including developers, project managers, clients, and executive level staff; and
• Exhibit knowledge and practical experience using IAM, LDAP, Active Directory, SAML Federation, XML data exchange solutions, Drupal, PHP, Java, and familiarity with industry best practices with regard to network infrastructure and security, as well as identity access management and data exchange protocols.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a temporary appointment. This position may require periodic off-shift and weekend hours.

*Leads to a maximum salary of $94,834 based on annual performance advances.
