Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a New York State License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse and certification by the New York State Education Department in a specialty area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and/or Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment. The McPike ATC is a Tobacco-Free facility.

Duties Description Completes medical history and physical examination on newly admitted patients; authors medical orders; provides infirmary-type care to patients; presents/conducts lectures/educational groups to patient population; performs duties as a registered professional nurse; assists in the ongoing assessment of patient and development of treatment plans; provides individual health counseling to patients; refers to, and serves as liaison with, local hospitals providing acute medical and psychiatric care;
functions as Employee Health Coordinator; participates in activities to improve patient care and facility operations; authors procedurally correct patient records; uses a computer daily for patient documentation and other required communication;
completes additional tasks as assigned to meet facility operating needs.
