FOR PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT: One year of service in a position at Grade 16 or above within OPWDD.

Duties Description The incumbent’s job duties will include overseeing and managing the incident reporting process on behalf of the director for constituents who reside in or attend state operated programs, including assuring that incidents are reported, correctly classified, investigated, reviewed and entered into a statewide data base. The Program Specialist also assures there is documentation that the recommendations of the investigator and Incident Review Committee are implemented. For incidents of abuse and neglect, the incumbent is responsible to assist Operations in developing a Corrective Action Plan and submits it to the Central Office Incident Management Unit. After review, the plan is sent to the Justice Center, a state agency charged with protecting vulnerable people who live in certified facilities overseen by six state agencies, including the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. In addition, the Program Specialist assists Operations administration in developing Plans of Corrective Action in response to Statements of Deficiencies when Metro’s certified facilities are audited by the Quality Improvement Department’s Bureau of Certification.

The purpose of the Metro QM Department is to assist administration and clinicians in assuring that service recipients are kept safe, provided with quality care and are helped to lead richer lives.
