Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. Candidates must be able to take and pass a typing performance test.
Duties Description The incumbent of this position will perform duties consistent with the standard for this title in the Transportation Maintenance Residency Office. As such, the selected candidate will process transactions; maintain records, documents, and information; and produce correspondence, reports, charts, etc. Incumbents must be able to read, understand and apply procedures, rules and regulations and laws.
The duties include but are not limited to:
• Sorting and distributing mail.
• Maintaining records and files.
• Answering telephones and appropriately responding to or referring inquiries made by employees, vendors, and customers.
• Providing assistance to the Transportation Office Assistant 2 in the administration of the Residency program which may include Personnel, Purchasing, and Training activities, such as:
o Hiring and promoting employees, and employee orientations,
o Assisting with ordering supplies, purchase orders, and vouchers,
o Tracking and entering TRINFO data,
o Reviewing employee's time in MAMIS ensuring flex time, overtime, recalls, meal allowance and leave times are all correct; then sending approved MAMIS records to the Time and Attendance system.
• Responsibilities also may include participating within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Preferred candidates will posses excellent written and oral communication skills as well as proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
