Salary RangeFrom $83493 to $102838 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in Information Security or Information Assurance and compliance policy and procedures writing;
Five years of experience implementing policies and procedures within an organization;
A BA or BS, preferably with an emphasis on writing. Emphasis on Information Technology/Assurance and compliance writing preferred.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Experience with writing in support of IT Policy Documentation where ITS was out-sourced from the entity in need of such IT Policy Documentation;
• Experience in the preparation of presentations explaining project status and documentation for high level staff;
• Experience providing input into the operational assessment of policy development and enhancement;
• A working knowledge of the requirements of IRS Publication 1075;
• A working knowledge of industry best practices for the secure, confidential and compliant use and implementation of information technology solutions;
• Experience preparing and delivering training curricula to non-technical staff.
Duties Description Working in the Employment and Economic Supports Law Bureau in the Division of Legal Affairs, the selected incumbent's duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develop and/or update Information Technology (IT) Policy Documentation needed to educate users and assure appropriate and effective dissemination and implementation of agency information security, confidentiality, and compliance policies, similar to those created by the NYS Enterprise Information Security Office;
• Write clear, accurate and concise IT Policy Documents meeting agency needs, including the development of mitigation strategies;
• Analyze information from a variety of sources, including existing data sharing agreements, applicable law, written communications, policies, guidelines, and interviews with subject matter experts;
• Provide Quality Assurance (QA) review for IT Policy Documents (based on CISO Policy list);
• Develop, edit, and format various IT Policy Documents;
• Prepare presentations explaining project status and documentation for high level staff in the agency and Social Services Districts (SSD’s), as necessary;
• Participate in meetings attended by agency management, users and ITS staff, as necessary, to discuss specific proposed policy issues and resolutions.
Additional Comments A full-time, temporary appointment will be made. Hours of the position are 9:00-5:00. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
