Permanent status as a Secretary 1, G-11 and interested in transfer OR Reachable for permanent appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for Secretary 1, G-11 OR Eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Secretary 1 is responsible for administrative duties for the Director, Assistant Director, and facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing administrative and secretarial services to the Director; completion of necessary correspondence, answering the telephone and dealing with the needs of the public. Tracking and timely completion of staffs’ annual performance evaluations and probationary reports while maintaining confidentiality at all times. Function as the liaison with OASAS Bureau of Human Resources Management for all newly hired staff and completion of all needed documents, including orientation. Liaison with the host psychiatric center to process purchasing requests for the facility, as well as following up physical plant repairs that are needed for health and safety purposes. Ensure that office supplies for the facility are regularly inventoried and ordered as needed for all staff. Utilization of ASCA and SFS systems for necessary purchases, staff travel, etc., and other tasks as assigned. Assists staff with computer issues as needed.
