Minimum Qualifications Permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) or one year of permanent competitive service in a position allocated to Grade 6. Transfer candidates will be required to demonstrate keyboarding proficiency by passing the keyboarding performance test.

Duties Description This position will be in the Office of Planning and Development. Duties include: receive and organize work to be typed and determine document format. Type correspondence, documents, records, and other written material from various sources in final or draft form using handwritten/marked copy, rough drafts, and recordings or data from various source material. Review work to ensure compliance with accepted office practices including correct layout, spelling, punctuation and grammar, and discuss any problems and possible solutions with the author. Set up equipment, margins, spacing, etc., and perform routine maintenance. Operate office machines, such as copiers, scanners and fax machines; distribute incoming mail; order office supplies; maintain files including performance evaluations; refer visitors, telephone calls, and messages to the appropriate staff member; assist other employees; assist with travel arrangements; and perform other office duties as required.
