Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience under a skilled journey-level welder which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. In addition, a Welder Certification issued by NYS Department of Transportation is required. A valid CDL B License is also required.
Duties Description Candidate's work would include journey-level acetylene and electric arc welding, brazing, soldering, oxy-acetylene cutting, drilling, boring, and tapping in repairing all types of Canal structures, vessels, vehicles, and equipment; design, lay out and fabrication of moderately complex special equipment and tools of all sizes. This position may require supervision of other employees and helpers.
