One year of permanent competitive service as a Children and Family Services Specialist 1 or eligible for a 70.1 transfer.
Duties Description
Providing oversight to voluntary agencies, this includes monthly site visits with CEO, program managers, social workers or child care staff, as well as interviews with youth in residence.
Providing program assessments to voluntary agencies, including conducting formal assessments to ensure compliance with NYS regulations and adequacy of service delivery for youth in care. The assessment includes case record reading and interviews and observation.
Providing technical assistance and oversight to voluntary agencies in the process of licensing, expanding, downsizing or altering their program, this includes coordination with OCFS Legal and Rate Setting.
Providing regular oversight and technical assistance to local departments of social services child welfare divisions. This includes interviews with commissioners, directors, supervisors, and casework staff.
Monitor performance of public and private agencies through review of data packages and formal program assessments which include case record reviews and interviews / observations of staff, children and their families.
Participate in and monitor the development of the Integrated Planning process for departments of social services.
Review complaints made by clients regarding the adequacy of service provided by departments of social services or voluntary agencies and follow up with corrective action as needed.
