REASSIGNMENT QUALIFICATIONS: An employee with one year permanent competitive service as a Secretary 2, Grade 15 is eligible for reassignment to any location where a vacancy exists in the title.

An employee with less than one year permanent competitive service is eligible for reassignment to a different geographic location only if the employee is reachable for appointment in the new location.

TRANSFER QUALIFICATONS: Keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement of this position. If you have not previously held a keyboarding position, you must demonstrate that you possess the requisite keyboarding skills to be considered for transfer – type at the rate of at least 35 words per minute, with at least 95% accuracy.

To be eligible for transfer via 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you must have one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title such as:

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: You would be responsible for organizing and coordinating the administrative activities in an organizational unit. You would be responsible for establishing office procedures for Executives including designing office filing systems, implementing policies and procedures and resolving operational day-to-day problems. You would be responsible for handling incoming correspondence, and drafting responses; updating and tracking judicial performance on Access databases and on Excel spreadsheets for the Chief ALJ; researching background information; transmitting instructions to staff and following up; handling telephone calls and visitors and responding to questions; coordinating and arranging meetings. You may spend up to 30 percent of your time operating equipment which requires manipulation of a standard alphanumeric keyboard.
