Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employee with one year permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Training Specialist 2 OR current NYS employee with one year permanent or contingent-permanent service in a G-21 title or higher deemed eligible to transfer to Training Specialist 2 under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Reporting to the Director of the Bureau of Staff Development and Training, the incumbent will be responsible for evaluating the Agency’s training needs and assisting the Bureau of Human Resources Management with employee engagement, succession planning and, overall resolution of programmatic requests. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Research various sources to find information, materials, and technologies to aid in the design and development of training programs.
• Present training courses dealing with complex and specialized material utilizing various learning technologies including video conferencing equipment.
• Develop curricula including course outlines, lesson plans, and the correct instructional/learning modalities.
• Maintain and update learning histories in SLMS.
• Create and upload courses into SLMS catalogue.
• Assist learners with interfacing with SLMS.
• Prepare quarterly reports regarding compliance of NYS Mandatory and OMIG specific Training.
• Evaluate whether the specific objectives, results and benefits, time span of the program, and the means of evaluation are achieved.
• Other duties as assigned.
