Salary RangeFrom $53339 to $67827 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be permanent in the Mental Health Program Specialist 1 title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 18 level. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is currently recruiting to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist 1/Mental Health Program Specialist Trainee 1, Grade 18/NS, vacancy in the New York City Field Office. The incumbent of this position will address issues raised by the public related to the delivery of mental health services. The incumbent will coordinate all contact by the public and will determine in a professional and timely manner the nature of the concern or request for information and will perform and prepare reports on data analytics.
Coordinates requests for information and/or concerns about Mental Health Services
• Serves as the primary liaison to Central Office in coordinating request for information from providers, the public, etc.
• Updates and manages resource list for callers whose concerns/questions can be handled via referral, including issues such as how to access public benefits, etc.
• Documents all efforts in tracking and reporting system.
• Tracks requests and ensures timely resolution as part of the data analytics function described below
• Provides reminders to involved NYCFO staff to complete investigations/responses
• Ensures that NYCFO staff have clear protocols for handling repeat callers
• Assists in the implementation of the NYCFO lean project on customer relations including consulting with Central Office to upgrade and refine the tracking and reporting system
• Collaborates with the NYC DOHMH on public concerns related to NYC Safe and other customer relations efforts
• Creates a log and tickler system for all requests for information to ensure that these requests are handled in a timely professional manner and that to the greatest extent possible each issue raised has been resolved.
• Works with subject matter experts within the NYCFO to draft responses
• Coordinates with Central Office on timely submission, thoroughness of the response, and consistency with OMH policies and practices
Serves as High-Risk/High-Profile Administrative Coordinator
• Attends all High-Risk/High-Profile meetings; documents the results of team meetings; and keeps track of responsible parties and follow-up items
• Sends reminders to make sure that follow-up items are handled between weekly meetings
• Prepares a quarterly report on volume of cases, content of cases, results and lessons learned in terms of system issues and/or other key findings
Performs data analytics
• Prepares data reports for NYCFO Director and other staff on: (1) overall customer service activities and results; (2) the high-risk/high-profile case review process (3) requests for information; and (4) revision of customer service protocols/resource inventory related to volume of requests, type requests using the tracking and reporting system and other analytic tools as needed
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments This position is eligible for the Downstate Adjustment of $3,026.
