Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 9 or higher and:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as a Secretary 1, Secretary 2, Accountant Aide including Trainee 1 & 2, Administrative Aide, Agency Program Aide, Business Document Specialist 1 & 2, Environmental Conservation Program Aide including Trainee, Keyboard Specialist 3, Legal Assistant Trainee 1 & 2, Library Clerk 2 & 3, Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service), Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 (Calculations), Senior Offset Printing Machine Operator, Stores & Mail Operations Supervisor. If you have not already demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding you will have to demonstrate that you meet the minimum proficiency in keyboarding.

Duties Description The Secretary 1 is the primary source of contact for all incoming calls and distributes calls to the appropriate office and field staff.
• This position has the sole responsibility of processing all of the divisions inspection reports as a result of the 7,000 plus inspections conducted annually via the division's Milk Inspection Program (MIP)
• Maintains Certified Milk Inspector Program to include all files, yearly training requirements and preparation and distribution of the quarterly Certified Milk Inspector Newsletter.
• Oversees Certificates of Free Sale that allows companies to export to other countries. Includes creation, delivery and billing.
• Submits all of New York State's drug testing dataset into the National Milk Drug Residue Database.
• Maintains Dairy Equipment Installer Database
• Serves as point of contact for all requests under the Freedom of Information Act.
• Maintains the database for Broken Seal Certified Personnel in all of the more than 350 processing facilities across New York State.
• Manages all of the purchases for field and office operations.
• Arranges office conferences, meetings, conference calls and webinars.
• Duties and initiatives as assigned by the director or program managers of the division.
