Duties Description Under the direction of the Administrative Officer 5, the incumbent would be responsible for legal tasks associated with the Fund for Reopened cases (FRC) duties of the Special Funds Group, and service various units. Duties may include, but are not limited to: overseeing SFCC’s handling of FRC claims as appropriate; overseeing, directing and implementing the transition of all duties and responsibilities related to the FRC from SFCC either to WCB or another designated entity; overseeing, the implementation and tracking of Special Funds Conservation Committee and its performance of transition tasks for FRC; conducting Legal reviews and determinations on claim specific FRC inquiries and issues; developing, reviewing and implementing processes and procedures relating to the handling of FRC claims; overseeing and performing the drafting of legal documents and forms related to the FRC as well as the resolution, via individual or broader scale agreements, of such claims; reviewing settlement recommendations, contracts or agreements; as assigned, ensuring proper investigation, maintenance and defense of FRC with regard to any proceedings involving claims against the FRC; ensuring and participating in representation of WAMO or other Special Funds staff; responding to outside parties and agencies with regard to claims and other matters; overseeing and reviewing of any bonding or contracting processes related to Special Funds; performing the full range of supervisory activities; and completing special assignments as needed.
