Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, information technology, visual arts/communications or graphic design is required plus three years of relevant experience. Candidates should have experience in web site development and maintenance, demonstrated mastery of graphic/visual design with focus on user-friendly UI/UX design, proficiency working with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Excellent written and verbal skills required. An excellent fringe benefit package is available.
Duties Description • Interface with internal customers to assess their goals and determine requirements.
• Identifying and documenting detailed specifications for design layouts.
• Collaborating on sample page layouts, wire-frames and storyboards for customer acceptance.
• Develop navigation, content and graphics (images, icons, buttons, banners).
• Support the creation of a smartly designed layout promoting future reuse and easy maintenance.
• Maintain site appearance by developing, promoting and enforcing content and display standards.
• Training content owners how to update and maintain their content.
• Work with application developers to create functional user interfaces to applications
Additional Comments The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) IT Department is looking for a motivated Web & UI Designer to join its application development team. This role provides creative and visually appealing web site designs and layouts that meet the specific needs of SUCF. The role of a web designer requires an understanding of graphic design and computer programming for web sites. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create clean, artful designs within the web sites currently used for internal/external web sites and content management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing the user interface and driving the positive overall user experience. In this capacity, the web designer will demonstrate their expert ability to establish a meaningful web site layout with appropriately designed graphics and visual imagery. The web designer will be expected to create sample page layouts and wire-frame models to be used as tools to present their solutions to content owners during design reviews. The web designer will also provide training to content owners regarding the updating and maintenance of content on their sites.
The person hired into this position may also be requested to support the creation of user interfaces for custom application development projects. These applications may include client/server and web based applications where the web designer's creative expertise is needed to build user-friendly navigation and application interfaces for more robust, easy-to-use applications.
