Minimum Qualifications Three years of demonstrated experience developing curriculum and training for adult learners in a wide variety of topics and subject matters; Experience with webinar development and delivery; Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Masters’ Degree in curriculum development and instructional technology or related field highly preferred; Excellent oral communication, interpersonal. advanced writing and editing skills; Training delivery experience preferred; Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite and use of Internet; Able to deal with multiple priorities and competing deadlines in team setting; A satisfactory equivalent combination of appropriate experience and education as determined by the Partnership and the NYS Governor’s Office of Employee Relations.
Duties Description The Employee Program Associate for Curriculum Development is responsible for leading the creation and revision of curriculum for in-classroom training and webinars. This includes Adult Education Basics, Computer Skills, Individual Development, Interpersonal Skills, Language Skills, Safety & Health, Trades, Operations and Maintenance, Work Management, and Writing Skills. The Employee Program Associate also assists in the identification and development of blended learning approaches. The incumbent works on a regular basis as a project manager and serves as an in-house consultant and coach in the development of curriculum. The Employee Program Associate develops curriculum incorporating research-based, up-to-date content, and adult learning theory. The incumbent works with internal staff, as well as external consultants as appropriate. In addition, the Employee Program Associate audits courses to recommend improvements to curriculum. Periodic travel throughout the State of New York is required. Specific duties include:
Curriculum Development - Design courses that address various adult learning styles and methods of instruction; Stay abreast of trends in curriculum development and instructional methodology and serve as an internal consultant in this area; Ensure compliance with copyright law; Identify and recommend supplemental materials and books to be used in courses; Use technology, social media, and other non-traditional approaches to create interactive curricula; Analyze participant’s instruction evaluations and course audits to make adjustments or revisions as necessary. Curriculum Coordination -
Coordinate development and revision of curriculum for classroom training and webinars; Assist in the identification and development of blended learning approaches to meet the needs of employees and agencies; Track and monitor curriculum from concept through course delivery; Ensure Partnership curriculum standards and guidelines are adhered to and that training accomplishes the stated goals of the course and mission of the organization. Training - Audit courses and deliver training as needed; Serve as coach to Partnership staff and external instructors in the development and delivery of curriculum
