Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be currently reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 2 (SG-18) eligible list OR eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
52.6 Transfer
To be eligible to transfer, interested candidates must have at least one-year permanent competitive service in a 52.6 qualifying title allocated to a salary grade 16 or higher.
Duties Description • Assist in installation, use, maintenance, and documentation of OSC's computer security software.
• Assist in oversight of the development of backup, recovery and contingency/disaster planning.
• Assist in oversight for conversion planning.
• Provide technical support for operating system security.
• Assist in the development of information security programs.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the policies surrounding the business and IT processes.
• Ensure all OSC security policies and directives are upheld.
• Perform the review of any reports that are developed from the Network Vulnerability Assessments.
• Ensure all deficiencies are reviewed and appropriate follow up action taken.
• Conduct periodic security audits and risks assessments.
• Execute the proactive monitoring, permissions, password reset, login issues, etc.
• Participate in creation and maintenance of system role maintenance and related policies for internal staff and external customers.
Additional Comments Desired Competencies
• Experience using system security software to monitor and manage breaches.
• Experience in diagnosing/trouble-shooting one or more of the following: operating systems, software packages, data base connectivity, basic hardware issues, network issues, security and password problems.
• Demonstrated experience in operating and monitoring security software products that create and manage user accounts.
• Demonstrated experience to configure, deploy and support intrusion detection products.
• Ability to apply information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices.
• Experience with Oracle Financial.
• Experience with Peoplesoft Development Tools/Code.
• Experience with SQL Server Query Analyzer.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
