Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive service in a title allocated to a SG-7 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law. Eligible list candidates will be considered separately and need not apply.

Duties Description Review, process, and approve/deny compensation claims filed by crime victims for un-reimbursed essential personal property (EPP) expenses. These claims are evaluated against current OVS statute, policy and procedures. The position is responsible for the entire claim life cycle, from initial investigation of the claim to the final resolution. Critical job functions include: written and oral contact with victims, insurance companies and law enforcement agencies to investigate claims; collection and review of applications and supporting materials; accurate application of rules and regulations; timely documentation of findings and other case notes within the Claims Assistant program; and compassion for the victims being served.
