Must possess a license to practice medicine in New York State AND certified in general Psychiatry by the American Board of
Psychiatry and Neurology
Duties Description The George Jervis Clinic is a highly specialized diagnostic and research clinic. The clinic’s multidisciplinary team of physicians,
psychologists, nurses and social workers conducts intensive and sophisticated diagnostic procedures and develops a treatment
plan for conditions in people with developmental disabilities. In addition, the clinic conducts clinical research the focus of which
ranges from the cause and the prevention of developmental disabilities to methods that stabilize and improve the quality of daily
lives. As part of the multidisciplinary team the Psychiatrist 2 selected would:
· Participate in research projects into the causes and manifestations of developmental disabilities, including the development of
methods to improve diagnosis, prevention and treatment of developmental disabilities and test the effectiveness of new
treatment methods.
· Review psychiatric and medical history of persons assigned for evaluation.
· Conduct full psychiatric screenings and evaluations of individuals.
· Make recommendations for managing the treatment program.
