Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be reachable on the appropriate eligible list or eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
To be eligible for a 70.1 transfer, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a grade 12 or higher.

Duties Description Participate in and Supervise the Time and Attendance Unit
• Oversee the day to day operations of the Time and Attendance Unit
• Enters transactions into HRIS to add new employees;
• Enters all new employee information in LATS;
• Updates and enters in LATS all new/created/changed schedules
• Monitors family sick leave usage to assure that the maximum number of days is not exceeded per calendar year;
• Monitors annual leave maximum balance pursuant to bargaining unit agreement and informs manager/liaison when limit is reached;
• Updates accrual balances (remainder minutes) for employees who are less than 100%;
• Manually monitors sick leave usage and informs Employee Benefits Unit when medical documentation is required;
• Runs various reports on a weekly basis within LATS to assure that information is accurate and that the system is functioning properly;
• Process Work schedule change forms.
• Answers time and attendance questions and assists employees with discrepancies on accrual statements;
• Extracts, edits, and audits time sheets and makes corrections as necessary (phone number, work schedule changes, distribution code, etc.);
• Answers time and attendance questions and assists employees with discrepancies on accrual statements;
• Process reports on employees separating from OSC or receiving promotions/ appointments
• Process telecommuting applications;
• Correct errors and update time history on time sheets that have been previously submitted and approved;
• Review 220 report and verify that appropriate documentation has been received. Make any necessary corrections to time sheets;
• Run balance projections for employees anticipating an extended leave (e.g., maternity leave);
• Process timesheets at the end of the pay period;
• Track and process requested for leave donations;
• E-mail accrual balances to requesting agency for OSC employees who have transferred to another agency.

Process Workers’ Compensation and Paid Family Medical Leave Act (PFMLA) Claims
• Access Call Center Intakes through the NYBEAS Worklist;
• Send out WC questionnaires to employees;
• Enter information within NYBEAS and/or C-2;
• Update LATS to reflect time off related to WC;
• Communicate with representatives for the State Insurance Fund regarding WC cases;
• Complete the yearly Public Employees Safety and Health (PESH) report;
• Process all requests from MC employees for PFMLA.

Process Commission Leave Requests
• Run Commission end date report from HRIS
• Prepare all Commission leave forms:
• Check Civil Service Commission Leave Calendar for approval.
• Enter transaction in HRIS:
• Complete and submit Commission leave letters

Exit Questionnaire
• Forward exit questionnaire to employees exiting OSC
• Track and maintain results from exit questionnaire.

Support of the Human Resources Office
• Provide backup for reception desk
• Assist in any special projects when needed
