Please note that Keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement of this position. Candidates who have not previously held a keyboarding title must pass a 5-minute typing session and must achieve a speed of 30 words per minute (WPM) with at least 96% accuracy in order to meet the NYS DCS keyboarding standard.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As a Secretary 1 in Counsel’s Office, you would be responsible for providing administrative support in an office. You would establish and implement procedures to maintain an efficient work flow; relieve an official of a variety of routine office details; and perform responsible clerical work. You would also screen and refer telephone calls to the appropriate staff; examine daily mail and personally handle routine correspondence by preparing replies or collecting information for your supervisor’s use in replying; and keep office records and files using a variety of software. You would be responsible for the preparation of a variety of documents, databases, and correspondence.
