CJPR Trainee, NS: One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a title allocated to SG-11 or higher, and otherwise eligible to transfer under Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Under the supervision of a Criminal Justice Program Representative 2, the Criminal Justice Program Representative 1 (CJPR1) will review grant applications; provide guidance to criminal justice and not-for-profit agencies in program and budget development; prepare written contract work plans; prepare written, statistical and oral reports; and make funding recommendations to supervisory staff. Tasks include assisting in the development and implementation of local assistance procurements and resulting grant contracts; monitoring of grant programs through site visits to review fidelity of implementation and assess the accomplishment of program goals and compliance with state and federal grant requirements; and coordination of inter-agency and intra-agency efforts to enhance cross-systems collaboration and improve statewide efforts to address public safety issues. Grant program areas may include federal Byrne-JAG but also state legislative grants and other special projects as assigned. Additionally, the Unit is responsible for the administrative oversight of office-wide processes, therefore, the incumbent may also provide support in these areas.
