Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a
title SG-21 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills; and experience conducting training is preferred.
Duties Description Working in the Office of Youth Justice (OYJ), the Criminal Justice Policy Analyst 2 (CJPA2) will be responsible for project management, data analysis and various other duties related to the work conducted by the unit. The incumbent will serve as a liaison to two or more of the nine Regional Youth Justice Teams (RYJT). This includes attending and assisting with planning meetings; corresponding with team members and leadership and overseeing the administration of NYS Juvenile Justice Advisory Group (JJAG) funded awards to the teams; and referring to data currently available on the DCJS website to assist the teams with making data informed decisions. The CJPA2 will serve as both the internal controls and procurement liaison for OYJ.
The CJPA2 will also oversee and coordinate the Rural Community of Practice initiative that works with juvenile justice stakeholders from rural counties throughout New York (thirty-seven counties) to identify and prioritize issues. The incumbent will assist in the development of strategies and plans to address the issues deemed locally and regionally significant and utilize the rural counties juvenile justice indicators data to inform decision making. The incumbent will serve as staff support for the NYS JJAG and have programmatic oversight of JJAG funded projects, as well as programmatic oversight of special OYJ projects. In addition, the CJPA2 will prepare reports and correspondence; assist in the development of Requests for Proposals and scoring instruments; and make presentations to RYJT’s and JJAG committee members, and deliver other unit related presentations.
