Provisional Qualifications: for all other qualified individuals:


Candidates must

1. be in possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State; AND

2. have a certification in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Limited permit option: This option is available only in the Office of Mental Health and Office for People With Developmental Disabilities. If you are licensed in another state or by written examination in Canada, AND meet the other requirements for Psychiatrist 2, AND have a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State, you are eligible to compete in the examination. If appointed, you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited permit was issued. Failure to do so will result in removal from your position.

Duties Description This position is being offered in the Article 16 Diagnostic and Treatment Clinic which serves individuals with developmental disabilities across the 10-county region. Clinics are held in Rochester, as well as, in other clinic satellite locations. A psychiatric provider with credentials to work with children, as well as, adults would be desirable. The Psychiatrist 2 will provide direct clinical services, including assessment and medication management to individuals needing psychiatric services. Documentation. medication management and billing will be done through an electronic health record system.
