Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the Associate Personnel Administrator, grade 23 Civil Service eligible list OR have at least one year of permanent competitive service as an Associate Personnel Administrator OR be in a title at a grade 21 or higher and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two grade levels. Candidates reachable on the eligible list will be considered through canvass and need not apply to this announcement.
Duties Description This Associate Personnel Adminstrator will supervise staff engaged in activities in support of recruiting, developing and maintaining an adequate and competent workforce, including supervision of Employee Relations, Payroll and Benefits, Staffing and Classification activities. The individual will provide guidance, direction and assistance in the resolution of issues involving employee benefits, union contracts, grievances and disciplinary matters; supervise and assist with the gathering of background and factual data on individual grievances and disciplinary matters, staffing and classification issues, and various payroll and benefits related matters; and conduct special studies in order to gather and evaluate information for use by management to resolve specific issues or improve the agency's personnel programs.
