Minimum Qualifications 1. 18 college semester college credit hours in any combination of the following courses: engineering, such as civil, chemical, electrical, mechanical, aeronautical and/or sanitary; public health, environmental and/or engineering technology; drafting; mathematics; surveying; computer science; environmental science; and/or the natural and physical sciences. (NOTE: Courses in the social sciences will NOT be considered qualifying.)
Candidates must possess a valid New York State driver’s license at the time of appointment, or demonstrate their ability to meet the transportation needs of the job.
Duties Description Candidates of choice will assist Bureau of Real Property staff in the task of managing Survey Contracts of NYS Flood Control projects, scanning and indexing survey documents, management of DEC land records, and assist building GIS layers of the Flood Control parcels and DEC managed lands.
Essential skills include:
• ESRI - ArcGIS Geodatabase development.
• Interpreting survey maps and deeds.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
• Review of Archived documents.
• Good organization.
• Willingness for occasional travel.
Additional Comments Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at interview. This position has a duration through 3/2015.
