Minimum Qualifications You must be licensed and currently registered to practice Physical Therapy in New York State

AND

have one year of post licensure physical therapy experience.

Duties Description A Senior Physical Therapist plans and carries out the physical therapy program for a facility. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• participating in unit program planning;

• evaluating the physical and neurological status of
patients and planning individual treatment programs;

• performing and interpreting results of tests and
measurements of the patient's condition for use in
preparing the treatment plan, modifying treatment
and evaluating results of treatment;

• performing special tests to determine existence of
neurological conditions or disease;

• carrying out complex test procedures, determining
kind and degree of muscular reactions to test, and
interpreting results of test;

• personally, plan and administer physical therapy for
patients who have severe or acute physical disabilities,
such as fractures, amputations, hemiplegia, peripheral
nerve injuries, or other forms of paralysis;

• serving on an interdisciplinary treatment team

• may supervise trainees and subordinate staff.
