Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.

OR

Candidates must have one year permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.1 of the Civil Service law.

OR

Individuals certified eligible for the 55b/c program under the Governor’s Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must meet the minimum qualifications and provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.

Candidates must have:
Either 1. Three years of full-time experience in a position where your primary responsibilities included extensive in-person or telephone customer service experience with the general public resolving customer's issues and/or problems; explaining programs/services, policies, or procedures; reconciling accounts; or experience examining, investigating, processing, or adjusting insurance claims; or responding to technical questions from policyholders or claimants;
Or 2. An associate's degree and two years of full-time experience described in #1;
Or 3. A bachelor's degree and one year of full-time experience described in #1.

Duties Description Under the direct supervision of the Senior Examiner, this position ensures that system participant report cards are compiled accurately and distributed, issues penalties for system participants that fail to meet established performance goals and resolves basic inquiries from customers.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for the distribution of quarterly performance report cards to system participants once per quarter using Board established information technology systems.
• Issues penalty notices to system participants who fail to meet established performance goals on a quarterly basis using Board established information technology systems.
• Responds to telephone inquiries, complaints, or other issues from system participants regarding report cards, performance penalties or appeal procedures.
• Prepares written correspondence that correctly identifies the parties and clearly outlines answers to specific questions raised either during a telephone conversation or in correspondence received as part of the file.
