Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and nine years of relevant experience.*
*Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or an associate’s degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
Duties Description Reporting directly to the Commissioner of the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Chief of Staff duties include, but are not limited to:
• Oversight, evaluation, and strategic process creation and identification for Administrative Litigation processes of the Division including supervision of staff and standardization of operations.
• Implement strategic direction as identified by the Commissioner.
• Disseminate information and communicates ideas and policies on behalf of the Commissioner.
• Respond on behalf of the Commissioner to issues that arise, both internal and external.
• Work with the Commissioner to oversee the writing and editing of reports, including annual reports.
• Direct project teams that are responsible for project planning for operational efficiencies and accomplishing the mandates
• Represent the Commissioner at meetings, conferences, public events, etc., as needed.
• Evaluate Division of Human Rights policies and programs, conducts literature reviews, and develops options for considerations by the Commissioner.
• Provide oversight to ensure the integrity of the databases and accuracy of statistical reports and data summaries, including graphics and tables that portray data, for use in advancing operational efficiencies and accomplishing the duties of the Division.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is eligible for $3,400 location pay.
