Salary RangeFrom $18.22 to $18.22 Hourly
Minimum Qualifications Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades person; OR completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services, such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership (NYS CSEA-P) Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of appropriate technical courses at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
Duties Description Will be required to perform necessary cleaning and maintenance functions for the Ray Brook Office buildings and grounds. Such duties will include:
- Daily cleaning of building offices and bathrooms including: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping ,cleaning and
sanitizing.
- Daily/weekly garbage and recycling receptacle emptying.
- Operation of a variety hand/power tools and motorized equipment, including self propelled and stationary
machinery.
- Ensure that utilized motorized equipment and tools are in good working condition.
- Assist in side walk snow removal/salting.
- Grounds and Building Maintenance year round can including mowing, weed whacking, and trimming.
- Staff the Ray Brook office mail loading dock to receive deliveries and daily mail.
- Keep written records of work performed and materials/labor used.
- Communicate with supervisors and staff about issues/concerns and the correctiveness in a timely manner.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 60 pounds.
This is an hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/25, with a possibility of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
