Minimum Qualifications TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES:

Candidates must have one year permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in this title and be eligible for lateral transfer.

OR

Be eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of Civil Service law. To qualify for Section 70.1 transfer, candidates must be licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have at least one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a title approved for transfer by Civil Service within two salary grades of the Grade 20 level.

OR

Licensed Master Social Worker 2 – Licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and have one year of post NYS licensure professional social work experience; **

OR

Licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Registration and licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor are not considered qualifying.




** Professional social work experience involves activities such as screening, assessing and diagnosing individuals' and families' psychosocial needs, strengths and limitations; participating in the development of treatment plans and discharge plans; counseling and educating individuals, groups and families to promote mental, emotional, physical and social functioning; helping access needed services; providing client/patient advocacy and crisis intervention; and developing, coordinating and evaluating services and support systems. Experience limited to social work research or social work administration is NOT considered qualifying.

Continued employment as a Licensed Master Social Worker 1 or 2 is dependent upon current licensure and registration by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Loss of licensure or registration may result in removal from employment.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Licensed Master Social Worker who fulfills this position will be expected to complete all duties with the following additional duties and responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the Treatment Team Leader, the incumbent will function as part of the Treatment Team duties to include facilitating the intake process for individuals.
• The incumbent will serve as a primary point of contact and resource between the individual, their circle of support (including residential team members, family members and care manager) and clinic providers for information about additional services, current treatment.
• The incumbent will ensure Coordination of services without duplication by outside providers.
• The incumbent maybe required to complete psychosocial evaluations timely for all Willowbrook Class Members, as well as others that might require this service to enhance the services that they are receiving or are looking to receive from OPWDD.
• The incumbent may refer the individual for additional services based on the feedback of the clinic providers or the request of the individual served and/or their family or other circle of support members.
• The incumbent will assist family member with burial planning, benefits & entitlements. Also work with individuals that have to clarify their citizenship status to allow for funding to be provided by traditional funding mechanisms, instead of being 100% State Supported, and
• The incumbent will assist in filling identified vacancies in BFDDSO's programs.
• The incumbent would function as a strong advocate for all individuals served by Bernard Fineson DDSO to ensure they continue to receive the highest level of services and to provide counseling as needed.
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the bureau or division and support the goals of the agency.

• If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.

• The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies
