Minimum Qualifications:

A valid forklift certification or forklift-specific license is required. Candidates must have the physical ability to perform work consisting of light or medium to heavy physical labor. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

Duties Description Position Information:

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work at the Great New York State Fair this summer? Look no further! The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking a State Fair Worker to join the Maintenance Department team from June 2024 through September 2024.

As a State Fair Worker, you will be responsible for performing various manual tasks using a forklift to support State Fair operations. You will load and unload heavy equipment, supplies, and furniture while operating a forklift. These materials will be delivered to various buildings and areas throughout the fairgrounds. To be successful in this role, you should have experience in material handling and operating a forklift, along with a valid forklift certification or forklift-specific license.
The position is located at the New York State Fairgrounds at 581 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, New York. We offer ample free parking, and this Labor Class, CSEA-represented position offers a competitive pay rate of $16.36/hour.
