Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of experience as an Administrative Assistant to a director or executive-level professional or two years of communications experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, highly organized, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exhibit a high degree of professionalism.

Duties Description The mission of the New York State Council on Developmental Disabilities (CDD) is to enhance the lives of New Yorkers with Developmental Disabilities and their families through programs that promote self-advocacy, participation, and inclusion in all facets of community life. CDD is federally funded but operates as a New York State agency under the direction of the Governor.

· Serve as CDD's Public Information Officer, develop communication plan including writing newsletters, press releases and social media posts, and respond to requests for information from council membership and the general public.
· Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and drafting timely responses to all agency FOIL requests, as required by statute, in consultation with the Executive Director and agency Counsel.
· Ensure Agency compliance with the Open Meetings Law, including the development of meeting minutes and posting necessary information about Council meetings on our website.
· Serve as liaison to Council Members.
· Coordinate logistics for quarterly full Council meetings and other meetings.
· Attend various meetings and prepare a summary of the meetings and agreed upon courses of action.
· Follows up with staff, as appropriate to see that deadlines are met.
· Oversee the drafting of all marketing and education materials related to DDPC funded pilot grant initiatives to assist with sustainability of these projects;
· Oversee the drafting of all facts sheets issued by the DDPC on policies and programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
· Support engagement strategies with underserved and diverse communities and develop projects to increase access to disability supports and services;
· Develop videos in collaboration with OGS media services to promote grant activities and educate stakeholders on various disability programs, policies and DDPC funded initiatives;
· Work on special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
