Minimum Qualifications • Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.
Duties Description The Vulnerability Management (VM) team provides vulnerability scanning services for external production web applications, pre-production authenticated scans of web applications, supports incident response and operational vulnerability remediation activities, and provides analysis and reporting associated with vulnerability scan findings across multiple platforms (infrastructure & web application).
Duties may include:
1. Maintain vulnerability scanning tools including tool configuration, scan configuration, and report generation.
2. Oversee the scheduling of scans in coordination with owners and custodians to ensure minimal impact to operational activities.
3. Ensure appropriate owners and custodians are receiving scan reports and results.
4. Meeting with other areas of ITS or client agencies to discuss security concerns and helping educate business units about the key concepts of information security.
Preferred introductory understanding of a programming language such as Python, and/or Command Line scripting to help automate routine and special operational tasks. Preferred 1+ years’ experience in technical writing or coursework in writing.
