Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, mathematics, finance, actuarial science, auditing, business, or economics. Degree must include 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, and/or taxation courses and 2 years of full-time professional experience in the duties described above,

Master’s Degree in accounting, mathematics, finance, actuarial science, auditing, business or economics. Degree must include 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, and/or taxation courses and 1 year of full-time professional experience in the duties described above.

Appointment may be made at the Trainee level, depending on experience and education level of the candidate.

Trainee 1, (SG-13) - Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, mathematics, finance, actuarial science, auditing, business, or economics. Degree must include 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, and/or taxation courses. No full-time professional experience necessary.

Trainee 2, (SG-14)- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, mathematics, finance, actuarial science, auditing, business, or economics. Degree must include 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, and/or taxation courses and 1 year of professional experience at the Auditor 1 Trainee 1 level.

Duties Description Conduct financial portion of Casino suitability assessment background investigations on persons (personal finance assessments) and corporations (corporate financial position assessments) for gaming licensing.

Interpret, review, and then summarize financial statements into a written report.

Conduct other investigative functions as directed involving the tracing of financial transactions and financial audits. Based on the specifics of the investigations, advise investigative staff what books, records and documents would be needed to establish case specific elements.

Travel as necessary to gaming facilities and applicant locations within and outside New York State.

Assist the Auditor 2 in the financial administration of the Gaming Unit, including but not limited to, the following:

Preparation of the Gaming Detail billings including Personal Service and Non- Personal Service Schedules.

Assist with the training of newly appointed staff.

Provide assistance as needed to Members of the Gaming Detail.

Complete additional tasks as assigned by Gaming Detail Supervisors.
