Salary RangeFrom $65001 to $82656 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional research experience in the field of criminal justice; or a master’s degree in the field of criminal justice and one year of professional research experience in that field.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include experience conducting criminal justice research, proficiency in Stata, experience in conducting causal inference and survival analyses and experience in summarizing findings in narrative form. The preferred candidate will have a master’s degree or higher in criminal justice or related field.
Duties Description Under the direction of Justice Lab manager, the incumbent will assist in the research design and analysis of a study examining sentencing and desistance among individuals involved in the criminal justice system. The research focuses on the marginal impacts of prison sentence length on social outcomes, such as recidivism and employment, and desistance among individuals arrested and convicted of criminal offenses. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with planning, designing, and executing criminal justice research and analytic projects, including developing research questions, formulating hypotheses, identifying an appropriate research design and methodology, and interpreting findings.
• Analyze complex criminal justice data and prepare formal statistical reports for public dissemination.
• Prepare formal reports and presentations which may include a description of the purpose of analyses, data and methodology used, and key findings.
Additional Comments DCJS has a hybrid telecommuting program. Employees are eligible to apply and obtain approval through management to telecommute a limited number of days per pay period, in accordance with DCJS Telecommuting Program Guidelines.
