Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position:

Six years of experience* producing multimedia communication projects using elements of audiovisual production, or graphic design for web, or graphic design for print.

*Substitutions: A bachelor's degree in video and/or TV and/or film production, web interface design, graphic design, communications design, or a closely related field may substitute for four years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience or coursework in visual design and/or video editing.
• Experience and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Lightroom and/or InDesign.
• The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaborative and team-minded.
• Creative, energetic, detail-orientation, and a proactive spirit.

Applicants may also be appointed to this position if currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title OR transfer eligible candidates with one year of permanent/contingent-permanent service in the title of Multimedia Production Program Specialist 1.

Duties Description Under the direction of the Deputy Communications Director, the incumbent of this position will assist with the design and production of educational, informational, and promotional materials including publications, multimedia, graphics, audio, digital media and print production.
Duties may include but not be limited to:
• Work with the Public Information team and subject matter experts to discuss project objectives, design features, format, and target audiences.
• Assist with developing design concept options for the overall layout of the project and integrate graphic elements as necessary, using various software packages for digital and print media.
• Research hardware and software solutions to achieve desired results.
• Identify, analyze, and propose resolutions to issues on existing multimedia or web sites.
• Serve as a resource for other staff by communicating concepts and providing technical information on the status of each project.
• Draft training and procedure manuals for multimedia products.
• Maintain electronic filing system for all complete projects and equipment tracking.
• Create draft quote requests and invitation for bids to obtain quotes from outside multimedia vendors.
• Work on Office of Cannabis Management’s content and social media channels.
• Support community outreach and public participation on media relations and public presentations.
• Attend press conferences, seminars, public hearings, and other informational gathering with the purpose of creating digital content.

Additional Comments NOTE:
• Travel may be required (approximately 10%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
