Minimum Qualifications Applicants must be able to speak, read, and understand English, and must possess a valid New York State motor vehicle operator's license.
May be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment.
Duties Description Achieve daily parking control via citation enforcement as required for University at Albany. Identify and cite campus parking offenders, apply wheel lock when warranted. Check all vehicles to assure that they are parked in the correct area including unauthorized vehicles that are parked in reserved or handicapped parking spaces.
Uphold an awareness and knowledge of the UAlbany environment (special events, classes, seminars, pedestrian movement, residential areas, high security areas, etc.); immediately report unusual and suspicious activities and physical security deficiencies to supervisor or University Police.
Exhibits professional demeanor and appearance toward community and guests at all times; provide UAlbany information and assistance as required. Provide directions to visitors and guests answering questions about the University, specifically parking. Resolve patron complaints about parking services or operations, referring challenging situations to the Supervisor.
Confirms ticket records prior to vehicle booting and towing. Keep accurate records of patrons whose parking privileges have been suspended or revoked. Retain detailed picture database of citations issued.
Responsible for parking meter & pay station collection, inspection, and minor repairs. Notify Supervisor if repairs need to be made by an outside vendor.
Confirm all parking enforcement equipment is in proper working and operating order while notifying Supervisor if equipment is in need of repair or replacement.
Clean interior & exterior of assigned vehicle, including, but not limited to, vacuuming, washing windows, and removal of all trash.
