Minimum Qualifications The ideal candidate will:
· Have 1-3+ years experience in social media and/or digital content creation
· Have exceptional writing/communications skills – especially in writing for social media
· Be intimately familiar with various social media platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)
· Be up-to-date on the social media and digital trends of the moment
· Be able to share a portfolio of recent creative content ideas (either via professional or personal work)
· Have a great sense of organization, attention to detail, ability to act fast, and think on their feet
· Major plus: have a basic familiarity with content creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, and/or other graphic design and video editing software
Duties Description Salary Band:
C4-TR $62,000-$70,000 (0-2 years exp)
C-5 $70,000-$90,000 (2+ years)
The New York State Executive Chamber is looking for a Content Associate to join our Digital-Creative Team. This team is responsible for managing and creating content for a variety of channels including, but not limited to: social media, email, SMS, YouTube, website, and events. This position reports to the Director of Digital Strategy.
The Digital Content Associate will be responsible for planning and creating content for Governor Kathy Hochul’s digital presence and for New York State, in addition to coordinating across Executive Chamber departments and State agencies to inform New Yorkers about the many initiatives and policies that impact their daily lives.
Duties to include:
· Writing copy for social posts, email blasts, SMS sends, toolkits, and any other digital collateral.
· Taking a smartphone into the field to capture content of the governor at events and other activities in the Western New York area.
· Participating in the creative development, technical implementation, and curation of content for digital platforms. This includes supporting the day-to-day execution of the team’s digital content strategy and building content calendars to ensure we are effectively reaching constituents.
· Finding creative ways to communicate with constituents on digital platforms, including engaging with the news of the day and using social media trends to promote key initiatives.
· Follow best practices and style guidelines to produce high-quality and accurate work.
· Follow agency policies and strategies for digital communications.
· Note: This role will sometimes involve being on call to work after typical work hours, including weekends.
