Duties Description Reporting to Investigative Specialist 2 Cannabis (SG-23), the incumbent will support the Administration and Enforcement team, building out Office of Cannabis Management’s (OCM) inventory management practices.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and oversee the maintenance of warehouse inventory.
• Research, liaising with various agencies and police departments as required, to develop intake, offloading, and relocation forward thinking procedures, ensuring legal expectations for chain-of-custody. Work strategically with leadership to build this out.
• Enter items and evidence into developed inventory tracking system utilizing online resources, proprietary software, and ITS platforms or solutions as needed.
• Document the delivery of items and follow appropriate chain-of-evidence best practices when related to ongoing Enforcement action.
• Develop inventory process for the Enforcement team to promote efficiency of item intake. Monitor the intake process and evaluate any trends or complications, recommending changes and LEAN improvements as necessary.
• Provide inventory support to OCM Enforcement team, including managing the procurement of goods and services and following appropriate state regulations and OCM budgetary constraints.
• Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders as appropriate according to identified specifications. Ensure appropriate safety measures are followed when handling illicit cannabis and other seized products, including vapes.
• Conduct monthly inventories to ensure all seized product are appropriately accounted for and stored correctly.
• Verbally and in writing report findings to Enforcement leadership, executive leadership, and the Audit, Quality Assurance, and Internal Control (AQI) teams, as directed.
• Maintain inventory security by following developed chain-of-custody best practices and confidentiality by ensuring information is only disclosed to appropriate sources for business need.
• Assist with integrating any new initiatives and standards into the inventory process by participating in the planning of any alterations to inventory management.
• Conduct industry research, stay apprised of current legal trends involving evidence, and recommending that OCM adopts practiced that help to ensure illicit cannabis and other illegal (potentially dangerous) items are stored and transported safely.
• Identify and advise Enforcement leadership and executive staff on any trends that relate to inventory storage and transport.
• Lead and participate in workgroups between Enforcement, Office of Administrative Hearings, Office of General Counsel, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure OCM follows all necessary steps to ensure evidence is admissible at hearings.
• Resolve related issues as needed.
• Research and analyze federal regulation changes related to cannabis, advising Enforcement leadership and/or recommending changes as needed.
• Represents executive and management staff at meetings as assigned.
• May provide all supervisory responsibilities as the area is developed.

Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience providing administrative, and staff support to executives, program managers and staff, boards, or commissions by managing budget, human resources, and business services activities for an organization or program, conducting special studies and research projects, and managing office and support activities. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of professional experience.
