Duties Description Court Building Guards work in State-owned court facilities and are primarily responsible for ensuring building security after regular business hours. Building Guards also serve as receptionists, driver-messengers, switchboard operators, and perform other related duties.

Court of Appeals Hall, 20 Eagle Street, Albany, New York
12:00 am to 8:00 am, Saturday through Wednesday with Thursday and Friday off.

Court Building Guards conduct routine and periodic rounds to inspect the facilities for safety and security during their shift.

Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of the eighth grade or the equivalent and possession of a valid New York State Driver’s License.

Note: Successful completion of the New York State Security Guard Basic Course (8hr.) within six months after hiring is required.

Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
