Duties Description As part of the Regional Wildlife Diversity Unit, job duties will include the following: Participate in a variety of reptile and amphibian surveys, including Atlantic Coast Leopard Frog surveys, timber rattlesnake den surveys, and assisting cricket frog surveys and habitat research. Other surveys could include bog turtle surveys, Blanding's turtle surveys, vegetation surveys, and collection of water samples. Other task will include data entry and compilation. Familiarity with reptile/amphibian and vegetation survey techniques a plus. Incumbent will at times assist with all other aspects of the regional wildlife program, including other endangered and threatened species surveys, emergency responses to wildlife situations, and answering questions from the public over the phone and in person, including questions about nuisance wildlife, hunting and trapping. This position starts on or after April 1, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

- 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in wildlife management/biology or similar
- Proficiency with microsoft office suite and outlook
- Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems and Global Positioning Systems

Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 9/30/2025. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.

Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.
Overnight travel may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 35 pounds.
