Duties Description Creedmoor Psychiatric Center (CPC), a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility is recruiting a Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Administration (DDPC 2 – Admin) to serve as the Director of Hospital Administration & Support Services.
The Director of Hospital Administration & Support Services is an essential member of the facility’s Executive Management Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Hospital Administration & Support Services will oversee the day-to-day supervision and oversight of the administrative management services including human resources; business office; physical plant and maintenance; environmental services; nutrition; and safety and security at CPC. The Director of Hospital Administration & Support Services will also oversee physical plant and maintenance and safety and security for Creedmoor Psychiatric Center.
The Director of Hospital Administration & Support Services:
• Provides management oversight and direction of Human Resources, Business Office, Physical Plant/Work Control (Maintenance, Engineering), Environmental Services/ Housekeeping, Safety & Security, and Nutrition/Food Services departments.
• Establishes and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines designed to ensure the effective operation of all necessary administrative and support services.
• Monitors the effectiveness of policies and ensures Joint Commission standards for Administrative Services are met.
Minimum Qualifications Thirteen (13) years of progressively responsible administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in a healthcare field, including four (4) years of specialized experience as the overall manager of one or more of the following areas functioning in the support of clinical or treatment services; budget/finance, human resource management, physical plant/maintenance, diversity (e.g., Affirmative Action (AA)/Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), information technology, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, health care facility, or a facility or agency whose primary function is providing treatment services to people diagnosed with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or substance abuse services/addictions.
Examples of non-qualifying experience include experience as an Office Manager or Practice Manager at a doctor’s office or medical practice, as well as experience working for an organization specializing in health insurance, pharmaceuticals, or medical research.
Substitutions:
• An Associate’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of the general experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for four (4) years of the general experience.
• A Master’s degree may substitute for five (5) years of the general experience.
• A Doctoral degree may substitute for six (6) years of the general experience.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

CPC, a Joint Commission-accredited facility, located in Queens Village, NY, provides a continuum of care to individuals from the borough of Queens who require intermediate and extended mental health treatment through inpatient and outpatient services. CPC is a large, urban facility with 312 inpatient beds, 170 outpatient residential beds, an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, and a wide array of other outpatient programs. CPC also sponsors the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited Psychiatric Residency Program affiliated with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
