Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Senior Administrative Analyst OR one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-16 or above and be deemed eligible for transfer under §52.6 of the Civil Service Law OR be reachable on the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) eligible list; OR be reachable on the Education Department’s Public Administration Trainee Transition (PATT) eligible list. Appointments from PATT or PCO require completion of a two-year traineeship.
Duties Description The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is currently seeking applicants for the position of Senior Administrative Analyst (SAA) in the Office of Facilities and Business Services (OFBS). This office is responsible for the oversight of all building operations and maintenance, security services, records management, printing and shipping of statewide exams, interior design and space planning, capital construction projects, mail services and coordination of leased facilities. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Business Services, this position will assist in the management, planning, development and coordination of the operations of various units within the OFBS, including publications, maintenance, security and a variety of professional and technical services. Duties of this positon will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Manage the Department’s fleet of vehicles and gain familiarity with the ARI (Automotive Rentals Inc.) program used in fleet management;
• Manage the Department’s Equipment Maintenance Program (copiers, printers, etc.) with a statewide contract with the Remi Group;
• Oversee Department’s mailroom and supply room and supervise mailroom/supply room staff,
• Maintain inventory of and monitor consumption of office supplies, equipment and furniture;
• Act as Department’s Health and Safety coordinator and represent Department’s management team in local and statewide health and safety committee meetings;
• Coordinate Emergency Response Teams;
• Facilitate the Department’s AED (Automated External Defibrillator) program;
• Manage the Department’s surplus program;
• Prepare and execute revenue and expenditure contracts;
• Supervise office staff;
• Communicate with agency managers in obtaining information concerning matters such as; work methods and procedures, program evaluations, management audits, information systems, work controls and form requirements;
• Submit written reports, including draft study findings and recommendations for review and editing by supervisory staff; and
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment. The filling of this position is contingent upon Division of Budget approval. Salary above applies to candidates appointed to Senior Administrative Analyst, SG-18. The hiring rate for candidates appointed to Senior Administrative Analyst Trainee 1 starts at $39,720 and, for current NYS employees, is based on the candidate’s salary at the time of hire. Candidates hired into the traineeship will be advanced to Senior Administrative Analyst upon successful completion of a (two) year traineeship.
*Leads to a maximum salary of $66,494 based on annual performance advances.
