Duties Description JOB SUMMARY:
Attend training classes on laws and regulations of rent stabilization and rent control on an ongoing basis.
Learn to utilize all ORA website material including forms and fact sheets.
Use the HUTS, Content server and ORRA systems.
Provide information to the public through face-to-face interaction, email responses, and telephone responses.
Provide rent registration information to the public in light of confidentiality requirements.
Speak at public meetings as directed.
Provide technical assistance to owners and tenants with online applications.
Provide technical assistance to owners with rent registration filings.
Provide technical support and feedback with IT projects and modernization.
Provide suggestions for updates to PI written material.
Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's or higher degree.
COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be reachable on the New York State Civil Service eligible list.
70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent or contingent permanent in an eligible title for transfer determined to be similar by Civil Service. For transfers, a list of approved titles is available through Civil Service GOT-IT at https://careermobilityoffice.cs.ny.gov/cmo/gotit/. The GOT-IT site will inform you if your title is transferrable.

Candidates who are brand new to state service will start at the hiring rate of the position, which is $56,506 plus $4,000 location pay.
