Duties Description Reporting directly to the Director assigned to the Sleep Study (Research Scientist 6), this Project Assistant will be assigned to a newly established Sleep Clinic where they will perform diagnostic sleep testing, therapeutic interventions, and patient care in accordance with established protocols.

Duties to include:

1. Patient Care:

Preparing participants for overnight sleep studies, which may involve informed consent as well as explaining procedures, applying sensors (EEG, EOG, EMG, etc.), and monitoring patient safety throughout the study.

Providing basic assistance during the study (e.g., troubleshooting participant discomfort, use of the restroom, etc).

2. Equipment Usage:

Setting up and calibrating Polysomnographic (PSG) equipment and other devices used for sleep and physiological data collection.

Conducting quality checks and maintaining lab equipment.

3. Data Collection and Processing:

Recording, scoring, and analyzing PSG data.
Performing Q/C on home monitors, actigraphy and other secondary data collected.

4. Medical or Research Tasks:

Tasks are primarily research-focused but involve a medical component, as the studies include monitoring for obstructive sleep apnea and other conditions during sleep

Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma

AND

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Certification. OR
Current NYS Polysomnographic Technologist Authorization OR NYS Respiratory Therapist License.

Specific experience in Polysomnography preferred
