Duties Description Assigned to the Data Analytics Unit, duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Produce business intelligence solutions by analyzing data repositories and creating written reports;
• Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in data sources;
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to define technical requirements and project scope;
• Assess data structures and how they can be used to produce desired reports;
• Research new data sources and analytical tools to achieve data reliability standards, and provide solution recommendations to leadership;
• Implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability;
• Conduct or coordinate tests to ensure that business intelligence solutions are consistent with defined needs;
• Test, validate, and reformulate models to ensure accurate prediction of outcomes of interest;
• Draft new functions or applications in programming languages to conduct analysis;
• Create written reports and effectively communicate results to staff and leadership; and,
• Supervise Data Analyst 1 and lower-level staff within the unit.

Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: seven years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.

*Substitution: An associate’s degree may substitute for two years of general experience; or a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of general experience. A master’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of general experience; or a Ph.D. in these fields may substitute for two years of general experience.
