Duties Description • Participate in and produce meeting summaries for the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership meetings, technical workgroups, and goal teams;
• Assist the Chesapeake Bay Program in gathering, compiling, and analyzing ambient water quality data, nutrient loading data, discharge monitoring reports (DMR) from wastewater treatment facilities, and other information related to best management practice implementation.
• Assist with coordination of the "We all Live in a Watershed" annual poster contest in collaboration with NY Water Environment Association (NYWEA);
• Assist WRIPS staff in conducting data entry, data analysis, literature reviews, and provide support to other watershed programs as needed;
• Additional Requirements:
Must have valid driver’s license;
Must be able to use Microsoft Office and Teams effectively;
Must possess strong written and oral communication
Minimum Qualifications Four years of experience in technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; environmental technology; geology or geology technology; or as a surveyor or a drafter;
OR graduation from high school and one year of qualifying experience;
OR graduation from a high school technical education program in aeronautics, architectural drafting, chemistry, electricity, electronics, mechanical design and construction, technical structural drafting and design, technical instrumentation and control systems, or computer circuitry;
OR 18 college semester credit hours in any combination of the following: engineering, geology, environmental science, natural or physical science, drafting, mathematics, or surveying.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
• Familiarity with working with ArcGIS Pro.
• Familiarity with R or other computer programming language.
Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 3/31/2026. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
