Workday
Duties Description • Alter and/or repair client's garments and other articles, including hemming, mending, and alterations.
• Create garments and other articles while communicating with clients to determine their needs, specifications, and preferences.
• Label and record alterations of garments and other articles.
• Iron and press, using a pressing machine, to remove wrinkles and creases from garments and other articles.
• Remove stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
• Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold clothing and other textile items.
• Track which items belong to whom.
• Assist with maintaining orderly storage, care, and inventory of various facility materials.
• Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility’s interior and exterior grounds and property.
• Interact with colleagues, customers, and other individuals in a courteous, positive, and professional manner.
• Maintain a professional work demeanor under demanding conditions and changing deadlines.
• Perform tasks in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.
• Ability to work under time constraints.
• Ability to safely use different types of sewing machines and manglers.
• Perform other support of operations duties as assigned.
Operational Needs:
• Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call capacity to cover special events.
Minimum Qualifications Four years of proven specialized experience in sewing and laundering clothing and textiles, having sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques. Additional experience in maintenance and cleaning is favorable.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional years of experience as a seamstress/tailor is preferred.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
Additional Comments Shift: Must have day, night, and weekend availability. Schedule will be discussed during interview.
